The CEO of our company, Selam Mamo, was born and raised in the beautiful country of Ethiopia where she spent summers with her grandfather observing his work as a tailor of suits. She was always mesmerized at how he turned simple fabric into magnificent fitting pieces of work that many of his clients proudly wore.  Although she was very young to learn from him at the time, something about this fascination stuck with her as she lost him soon after her 5th birthday. He would later become her inspiration for the start of Wub Designs. The inception of Wub Designs occurred on a summer week in 2017 when she was compelled to create a two-piece design that woke her up early in the morning and kept her well late into the night. She sewed this design by hand for three consecutive days. By the end of the third day, she had completed the full outfit where she had the realization that design was her destiny. She would later begin to create her signature shirt designs many of her clients love. In her adult years, Selam has always been intrigued with bright and bold signature styles which are primarily present in her designs. She draws her inspiration for the styles from her culture, geometry and the beautiful colors of nature. Selam continues to expand her taste for her signature looks during her travels to many parts of the world. Selam has participated in community wide festivals that celebrate art creators such as herself through events like Trap and Art and soon plans to take Wub Designs to the stages of Afro Soca Love.
